Hot island.. No.. Not Ibiza..

Think within the box!!

It's near Ibiza yes. Barcelona it is. Great idea, green roof is for the roof, right?what about the facade?this probably will be a nice future development for facade modifier especially if we talk about urban heat island (you may google it). Basically urban heat island means some amount of heat that traps inside a certain area usually in CBD area where the concrete jungle exist.

Idea is good, any drawback? lets check it:
1. Cost, pricey of course.
2. Maintenance, kinda difficult.
3. Life duration of the concrete, couldn't be long.
4. Safety, doubt it.
5. Construction duration, too long!!
6. Applicable to any kind of building, hard to tell.
7. Applicable to any kind of climate, nope.
8. etc (End of Thinking Capacity)

Advantages?list are:
1. Great building insulation, perfectly!
2. Aesthetically green, indeed!
3. Environmentally friendly, check!
4. Excellence in reducing heat for near pedestrian, urban cool island then.
5. etc (End of Thinking Capacity)

So?good or not it's really depends on the perspective. But for me?....IT'S A CHALLENGE!! come on!! Architect should be a pioneer. Think not just outside of the box?break the box instead!!what about that concrete part not entirely on the building facade?just some part of the building let say 30%. It's not much yes, but imagine if a high rise building then?40 stories mixed-use development building. I prefer to find a alternative solution rather than questioning something that could be a negative impact of my "thinking capacity".

So please, Architect!!Lets PLAY!!
