Questioning the "GREEN", no it's not Hulk..

Green building doesn't always mean green employee productivity

Anyone ever wonder?working in an environment of a LEED certified building?sounds fun isn'it?

Tell you what?no it's not.. any more..

New study shows that the employee satisfaction is not as high as the building score in LEED certification. For a company, employee satisfaction in working environment, is a major issue since that related directly to the productivity of the employee, which in the long run will affect the company's performance.

This is a dilemma for the company, especially these days, where the working environment becomes the most crucial factor of a employee picking up where he or she wanted to work. And yes, money is not the top priority anymore.

My opinion?hmm.. let see..
Firstly, I believe it's all about behaviour. New building that has LEED certified, probably is entirely different species with the non LEED certified building. Which that means the LEED building is way out of the employee's expectation of a working environment.
LEED certification is new concept probably around 1995 was introduced. That means, it's only 19 or 20 years old. The employee?25 years old at least. The way the employee imagine about working environment is way different because of the generation gap.

"but it's only 5 years!?", trust me, 5 years?it's a lot!!an example?computer hard drive and memory storage technology, cellphone, internet, name it!!

Secondly, focus on change. Adaptation, it is already happen. The employee has to adapt the new environment besides, the company either owned the building or rent it, I believe tried their best to make the working environment as cozy as possible.

Conclusion?hmm... working on it..
